The world is entering a state of chaos. We are facing challenges like never before in environmental pollution, pest problems and exponential growth of injurious insects. The natural order that was once accepted without any doubt is starting to collapse before our eyes. Thus, the key to overcome such state of pandemonium is through collective intelligence. Since its inception in 1989, the FAOPMA has devoted itself to sharing knowledge with the belief that it is the sole way to ensure the common prosperity of nature and humanity. At present, we are in dire need of such efforts for a better future ahead.
FAOPMA-Pest Summit 2019 most successful. With these strong support, FAOPMA-Pest Summit 2019 will be an academically enriching, socially enjoyable, and truly memorable experience for all participants.
The World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit is an international networking event for global agribusinesses, solution providers, entrepreneurs and investors. Its goal is to accelerate the commercialisation of advanced agricultural technologies by generating global partnerships and collaborations. With over 60 speakers and a new crop of exciting international agtech start-ups, the agenda explores the adoption of smart farming, the power of the microbiome, crop protection, gene-editing, robotics and AI, supply chain traceability, indoor farming and investment opportunities in animal health. The event has grown consistently each year, welcoming over 450 agribusinesses, start-ups and investors from 43 different countries in 2018 for two-days of debate and deal-making.
Described as the event for pest control technicians, this annual gathering of more than 1,000 pest controllers will showcase the very latest information, featuring over 50 exhibitors and a full programme of presentations.
CPD points will be available for attending the exhibition as well as for every seminar and demonstration.
Following on from the amazing success of last yearâs event at the custom-built Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, we have decided to hold our PestTech event there again this year.
The feedback we received last year was overwhelmingly positive, from both exhibitors and pest controllers who attended. We have been very impressed with the facilities at the Marshall Arena, so we are greatly looking forward to this yearâs event.

The BCPC Congress 2019 â âUnderstanding the demands and opportunities of a âGreen Brexitâ â how do we deliver food production alongside environmental enhancement?â
The 2019 BCPC Congress will focus on a wide range of topics relating to how intensification of food production can be reconciled with environmental enhancement. The Congress will seek to unearth the many issues resulting from the UK Governmentâs agricultural policy framework, regardless of the UKâs future relationship with the EU, in which farmers will be paid to deliver biodiversity, cultural landscapes, high quality water, air and soil rather than food.
The science, technology and policy issues relating to the national debate on how to support UK farming and food production whilst meeting the highest environmental and safety standards will be explored in a series of sessions.
Day 1 will start with a plenary session on delivering both improved food production and âpublic goodsâ. This is followed by parallel sessions , a) on current regulatory issues for pesticides and new breeding techniques and b) on science-based agriculture, focusing on advances in applying crop production inputs to achieve future improvements in yields and environmental protection
Day 2 will address key technical and regulatory areas relating to âGreen Brexitâ agricultural and environmental policy. It will cover critical considerations for greatly increased implementation of IPM and the opportunities and regulatory challenges of precision agriculture, which will be the focus for this yearâs CRD (HSE, Chemicals Regulation Division) interactive workshop.
CRD Workshop: âRegulating new agricultural technologiesâ
This yearâs interactive workshop will focus on the fast-growing field of greater precision in crop protection applications, which can improve crop production and reduce the risk of undesired exposures to people and the environment. It will investigate the Regulatory opportunities and challenges arising from developments such as:
- Robotics, machine-learning interfaces, including interactions with operators, âbig dataâ
- Treatments informed in real-time, e.g. by remote sensing, diagnostics, best IPM practice and resistance management guidelines
- Application-specific formulations
- Delivery of âbespokeâ doses for spot-treatment of pests, weeds or diseases
The key aim is to get early inputs from stakeholders to inform/develop regulatory systems in a way that maximises the benefits.
